MUSICAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT.
The Christchurch Musical Society's first subscription concert will be given in His Majesty's Theatre this evening at S o'clock, and there is every prospect of an attractive performance. Mr W. Handel Thorley, the conductor, who so ably eor-ducteci tho Orchestral Society recently at its concert, has brought the chorus nn to a hi eh standard of efficiency, nnd the production of Mendelssohn's "Elijah" should bo much appreciated. Tho sn'oists tokinpr part are Madame Gower-Burns, Mrs, Krnesi Firth. Mr Jehu Prouse, and Mr William Jones.
