MILITANTS STRIKE TROUBLE.
BEATEN AND TRAJJPLED UPON
(Received June Bth, 9.5 4 p.m.) LONDON, June 8. Extraordinary scenes were witnessed at B.oiuptoi) Oratory.
Twenty suffragettes chanted tho suffragette litany. One atood in the aisle, shouting, "For God's Bake stop forcible feeding."
The congregation, women being prominent, fiorcely attacked the suffragettes, some of whom had their hate torn off and clothing disarranged. A few had their hair pulled down, and others were bleeding from the inputh, But for tho verger's protection they would have been treated, much more severely. Eventually tho vergers, carried them out. There wore further scenes outside. As a stiffragetto'was entering a taxicab a lady member of the congregation pulled her out and thrashed her. Another suffragette, whose teeth wore injured by a.man's fist, lay full'length, outside, and refused to budge. Tho people trampled across her.
