Soino ashes placed against the wail of the engine-house at the intake shaft wero responsible for a firo on Sunday morning. The switchboard wiring was destroyed, and the dynamo slightly damaged. Repairs will be put iv han'j at once, .and there is not much fear of delay to tho works. The weather is gloriously fino just now. • * Tho last of the pipes came ta hand on Saturday, and will bo placed in position immediately. The wiring gang on the transmission line has started back from the powerhouse on the second line of wires, and is well on its way to town. The football match, Staff v. Kisselton Club, resulted in a win for the Staff. Dunnett, McLellan, and.Tennet scored for the winners, and Aitkcn converted one. Mr. W. Johnston acted as referee.
