Mr Power, a famous picture-restorer, and a member of the National Art Fund Committee, London, states that a Shropshire gentleman bought a picture at a fair price in Australia in 1834, but was not aware till recently, when he had the picture cleaned, that it was a portrait of Titian, by himself, and estimated to be worth anything up to £100,000. Only three others of Titian, by himself, are known to exist.
