LONDON FIRM'S FAILURE
(By Cable,—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received June Bth. 12.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 7. Chaplin. Milne, Grenfell and Company, merchants, have suspended payment. Arthur Morton Grenfell,, who lately withdrew from the directorate, was concerned in a movement on the Stock Exchange last month, affecting £5,C00,000 worth of Canadian stocks, but got beyond his depth. He is a director of many Canadian companies.
The ' firm's capital account is £350,000, and there is a current deposit account with the company of atont £1.500,000.
Tt is understood that tho firm is solvent, but will- require time to meet ft* liabilities.
