AT SATURDAY NIGHT'S DEMONSTRATION.

THE GREAT DEMONSTRATION.

The King's Theatre was well filled on Saturday night., when tho Vcedeo Specialists save their promised Freo Public Demonstration. Tor some timo past, many Christchurch sufferers had been looking forward to this demonstration, for the fame of tho Veedee had preceded it, and all were anxious to sco for themselves whether it could really do tho things that are claimed for it. Thus it was an expectant crowd that rolled up to see the Yeedee in action, and it included many unfortunate sufferers who had soiißht in vain for soroo relief for their troubles. Promptly at eight o'clock the Veedee Specialists appeared on tho platform, and were, warmly grcettxl by the audience.

THE VEEDEE.

Proceedings were opened by Mr A. B Scott tuu aeuoral ol tnc vWSs'New ZoAiml tour, who mentioned in a few well-chosen words »hat are the objects which ".oWdee Specialist* seek to attorn. * cot \£ u plained that, the Veedeo .hub oiiu shown in all tho princiiml cU.es or the world within the last tew years, and most recently in Brisbane, -.Newcast c, Sydney, Melbourne, BaUarat, and Adelaide, "and that everywhere it had lett behind a phenomenal record of successful oiree. Ho emphasised tho fact that the Veedee has been imitated in many ways, but that nevertheless it stiU*stands to-day in the .same position which it won when first invented eleven years ago—namely, as the only) effective and practical vibrator m the workl. All other would-be vibrators, pulsators. blood-circulators, etc., I»a»l imitated the Veedee in everything except its power to cure. Tho reason tor this is not fm#to seek, as tho \ecdeo is the only udjustjvble vibrator in existence, and this adjustability tells in itself tho story of the Veedee s siu--ce&s. Mr Scott gave- a very apt illustration by explaining that it was ]"st as necessary that the power aml force of vibration should be exactly regulated to suit each particular complaint, each particular case, oaeh particular patient,, as it is necessary that a pair of field-glasses should be exactly regulated to suit the eyesight of the poison using them. As this adjustability does not appear in any other machine, it therefore follows that the Veedeo is the only vibrator of any curative value. Some- slides were then thrown on the screen, showing testimonials from such well-known people as "Snowy" Baker, Fatter Robinson, of Camberwell. Victoria, Madame Melba, her' Majesty the Queen of Spain, ex-Attornoy-General Hughes, C. B. Fry, the famous English cricketer., .Lord Roberts. General BadenPowell, and many others equally well known.

THE LECTURE.

Professor W. T. Wright, the Veedeo Specialist and Expert, who came out from Ehgland especially to tour Australasia and lecture on vibration, was, then introduced. Hows ,6 1T ? n . n a heart* reception by tho nowdeeply T interested audience. Professor bright, in a scholarly and carefully-worded address, proceeded to elucidate tho principles of curative vibration. *or tno benefit of his hearers he explained, and later illustrated, by means or some most interesting and unique elide*, how, by applying Vibration to any Riven nerve at its origin in the fcpuic, it is possible to bring about a healthful condition in tho organ controlled by that particular nerve. J3y stimulating the controlling nerve, the energy J* transmitted to the organ itself, which, in its turn, is induced to fulfil its proper functions. In any caso where sluggish circulation, or nervous, or tune-, tional disorders exist, the use of tho Veedeo is indicated, for one of the important accomplishments of tho Veedee is its power of stimulation. By increasing the, blood circulation and thus bringing a greater flow of nourishment to any particular part of the body, its action strengthens and re-vitahses uiis particular part, and at the same timo the increased blood-flow carries away any'waste "matter which may have accumulated. In connexion with such complaints as rheumatism and gout, for example, the Veodee slowly but surely breaks down tho deposits of nrio acid which have-accumulated around the joints, and renders it possible for them to be carried away by the blood, and discharged out ot the system -through the kidneys in the ordinary way. In the same way deafness, unless caused by actual injury through accident or other similar cause, yields readily to the influence of Veedeo, which, by increasing the circulation around the ear, dispels the congestion, which has been preventing tho ear drunb-from properly vibrating and thus reproducing sound. Professor "Wright also quoted several of the highest authorities on tho question of miners' phthisis, who are agreed that the best-, and, in fact, only preventive of thus dread disease is Nature itself. If one can keep the system free from noxious substances, and the circulation good, Nature will do the rest. This is where th.> use of the Veedee comes in. It : n----crenses tho circulntion of the blood, induces a good healthy appetite, and keeps the body in a condition to resist the nvages of disease. All Professor Wright's remarks were well illustrated "by means of the slides, and made a deep impression on the audience. Cavjs were then called for treatment on tho platform, and it was explained that none of the pf»oplo had ever been seen before by the Veedeo (specialists. -\ large number came forward,' and about a score were treated by Professor Wright and a mirso during the evening.

PLATFORM GASES.

The first case treated was that of Mr F. La timer, of o'2 Linwood avenue, Christehurch. Mr. Liitinier has been a. sufferer from sciatica for about four years, and moved along with great difficulty with the aid of a.stick. After tho machine *w<l been at work on him for a few minutes, however, he was ablo to walk much better, and without his stick, and smilingly acknowledged tho excellent results accomplished in such a short space of time.

Mr McCarjrill, of Bath streot. was another sciatica patient to undergo treatment ■ with tho machine. Mr McCargill, at the start, had the greatest difficulty in propelling himself along the stage, but after the "Little •Steel Doctor" had been at work a very short time, he did a semi-tango, and threw his legs about with the greatest of ease. The audience, by now deeply interested, were breathlessly watching each new development, and applauded heartily each fresh success of the Veedee Specialists. Mr Kotlgers, of Woolstou, then asked to be treated for tho deafness which had been his constant companion for tomo live or six years. Even when shouted at from right closo to his ear, it was with the greatest difficulty thai lie could bo made to hear, but after a low minutes' Veodee application he could understand when addressed in an ordinary conversational tone from, a distance of about three feet. Mr Rodgers said a few words to tho audience: "il was sitting in the front row, and could not distinguish a word of what was being said on the stage. Xow I can hear what is said to mc. The Veedee Specialists do not know who I am, or anything'about mo. They saw mc for tho first time to-night."

A case of Rheumatism then occupied attention. -Mr F. Webber, of Kaiapoi. had rheumatism in his shoulder to such an extent that he could hardly put his hand behind his head. Onco more, however, the littlo . Veodee proved its worth, for it was not many minutes before Mr Webber, to his own huge delight, was ablo to swing his arm clear around his head. The audience, toa, wore delighted at the great improvement brought about m such a short space of time. \

THE CROWD CHEER.

■Another case which evoked loud cheers from the onlookers was that of ■Mr R. J. Owcr-s, of 16 Halkett street, who for six years had been a victim to tho ravages of Rheumatism. Mr Owors moved very cautiously about the stage, but tho Veedee. .soon made- him ablo to get along with ease, and he hurried to tell his wif<> of the success of /'the Veedep in his case.

Mr E. McFadden's caso was one of tho {lifiicult ones attempted by the Specialists. This gentleman has suffered from Rheumatism for twenty ■years, and had great trouhle propelling himself along with tho aid ot a stick. - Tho littlo Veedee came to tho rescue, and after a short treatment Mr McFaddon threw his legs about, and skipped along with apparent ea£o. Hβ was highly pleased *hy the wonderful improvement shown, and the atidienc« voiced their approval in no uncertain vray.i A very difficult case of Rheumatoid Arthritis was that of Mr F. Johnson, of Upper Ricrarton. This is .a complaint -which does not yield rapidly to any sort of treatment. Tho Vecdeo can, however, in time generally bring about o cure. Tn Mr Johnson's case the treatment enabled him to close his hsind, which he- had been unable to do before. Mrs Ramsey, of Hilton, was unable to raise her arm iTeforo treatment, but was able to do so and was most pieced. Another deaf to come under tho attention of the Specialists was Mr R. Meynell, of St. Albans. This gentleman could not hear his wateli tick prior to having the Vcedeo applied, but was"able to after a short treatment. A number of other cases were also treated during _. the course of the evening, which were" all -successful in a greater or less degree, and tho efforts of tho Specialists won the warm appreciation of tho audience throughout *he. demonstration. At the. close of the proceedings a largo number of people made appointments for private treatment at the Vcecleo Institute, Cashel street.

VEEDEE IN GHRISTCHURGH.

Saturday night's King's Theatre de- '' - monstration proved conclusively to the ," onlookers that tho 'genuine veedee is . a truly wonderful little instrument for the alleviation of pain and the .-curing of disease. There are, however, thousands of unfortunate'people who are enduring useless suffering through being ignorant of the existence of this marvellous machine, and it is"with the object of-reaching such of these as live in Christchiirch and ■ its surrounding ' districts that the Veedee Specialists ■.- have -opened new and luxurious raises in Christchurch, where all sufferers will be treated -free - of charge. • Anyone can come to tho■■-Veedee Institute and feel perfectly confident that they wtJJ not be advised to purchase a machine, unless, in the opinion of the Specialists, it can do them good. FREE TREATMENT. AH sufferers from such painful complaints as rheumatism, lumbago, sciatica, neuralgia, constipation," piles, goitre, liver and kidney troubles, alysis, deafness, gout, arthritis,, stiff' limbs and joints, insomnia, asthma, --_. nervous debility, locomotor ataxia, and general debility and loss of powers, should, therefore, not fair to come to tho Veedee Institute, where they will . bo given a freo consulafrion and treat- - ' merit, and if their case will yield to Veedee methods,' they will have the opportunity of purchasing a machine. The Veedee is essentially an instrument for home use, and is so .simple in operation that no one carefully following the printed directions can fail to got good result^,'- If you cannot come" to the Institute, then write , for ■ fuli particulars, sent post free; but' ; come to the Institute if you can, for no.' .".mount of description can hope to bo one-half as convincing as .an actual trial of tho Veedee itself.
