(sri;ci__ to *Tn_ r__css.") DUNEDIN, Juno 2. A deputation, consisting of Professor Hewitson (convener of tho Foreign Missions Committee of tho Presbyterian Church), Dr. Bowie (lately in charge of tho hospital at Ambrim), and Mr P. L. Clark (who recently visited the Now Hebrides on behalf of the Presbyterian Church), were this morning introduced to the Prime Minister by Mr G. M. Thomson, M.P. The deputation asked that tho Government should endeavour to secure for tho Church somo security of tenure in the Now Hebrides, as it was proposed to proceed with tho erection of tho hospital at Ambrim to replace the ono that was destroyed. The unsatisfactory condition of the administration at tiio present- time made it desirable "that the Church should secure a hotter tenure. In reply, Mr Massey' expressed his sympathy with the objects of tho deputation, and his readiness to do what lay in his power. He pointed out, however, that tho matter was really.au international one, and he would bring it beforo his' Excellency tho Governor.
