HERR PAUL MAUSER
("Timea" and "Sydney Sun" Services.) - (Received June Ist, 7.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 31. The death is announced of Herr Paul Mauser, inventor of the rifle that bears his name, aged 76.
NEW PLYMOUTH, June 1. •A very old identity, in the person of Mr Tom Clark, died. on Saturday morning at the age of 82 years. He was connected with the early days of South Canterbury, where lie was engaged in carting about Timaru. In the eighties he came to Taranaki, and farmed for some time in the Okato district. About 1893 he became gardener to the late Mr J. C. George, of "Maranui," on Avenue road, and had remained there ever since.
GISBORNE, June 1. An old-resident .of Gisborne, hi tho person of Mr William Reginald' Robinson, barrister and solicitor, died yesterday. He was in his 78th year, and had' resided in Gisborne for 50 years.
