GERMAN BAY.
The residents of German Bay a__on»bled in the schoolroom on Friday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs William Curry, and Mr and Mrs J. Hammond, residents of long standing in the Bay. who are retiring, and intend taking up their residence in Christchurch. Mr Curry wa* presented with a travelling rug, Mrs Curry with a biscuit barrel and salad bowl, Mr J. J. Hammond with a walking stick and silver-mounted umbrella, and Mrs Hammond with a marble clock and jam dish.
