Considerable interest was centred in this match, which was played at the Linwood Park. Tho game was confined chiefly to the forwards, but the Students opened up the game in great stylo during tho last ten minutes, and scored 8 points just on tho c.-.1l of time. W. Cummings kicked off for Linwood, who opened with a good forward rush to tho Students' twenty-five. A kick by Simmers gavo temporary relief, but the Green forwards, headed 'by Harvey and Cummings. returned to tho attack, and had the Maroons busy defending. Good defensive work by Livingston, and a dash by McLeod, gave relief. Bush further improved matters for tho Students, and Linwood were forced. Tho Linwood backs attempted passing but Hunt missed a good chance by kicking wildly, and Jermyn kicked out to half-way. Shaw charged down Young's kick, but Colthart came to tho rescuo with a useful run. The Maroons continued to have the better of tho play, and were attacking hard 'when half-time sounded.
