There was a largo crowd at the Christchurch station on the arrival of the second express, and his Worship the .Mayor 'Mr H. Holland) welcomed Sir Tar. Hamilton to the city, and hoped that he would have a pleasant >tay. After tho usual compliments tho General and party walked out to where the fine guard of honour, provided by the Boys' High School Cadets, was paraded. The salute was smartly gi v en, .and then the guard was inspected ny Sir lan, who complimented tho lads on
their splendid appearance. Tho party were then driven off in motors by tho North Canterbury Motor Rcservo. TO-DAY'S ARRANGEMENTS. To-day General Hamilton loaves Christchurch by special tram at . o a m for Mt. Tories*. Ho inspect* held operations, has lunch on the ground, and leaves by special train at 4.40 p.m., arriving at Christchurch at b.-'o p.m.
