MR ASQUITH'S ATTITUDE.
MR CHURCHILL MADE OFFER ON HIS OWN ACCOUNT.
Tho Houso of Commons was crowdod to hear Mr Asquith's statement. Ho said: "Mr Churchill made the offer on his own account, not on behalf of tho Government. So far as he invited Sir Edward f-arson to mako an offer in tho spirit indicated, I heartily sympathise."
