"THE GRAFTERS."
Mr "William Anderson .recently imported a musical burlesque company from America to play "The Grafters, , ' , "A Day at the Races," and other pieces of a similar character. These nieces have drawn big houses in Melbourne and Sydney, and tho theatregoers of Christchurch will have an opportunity of witnessing the same productions in all their elaborate detail. The season opens in the Theatre Royal on Wednesday next. The- broad comedy acting of Messrs Bert La Blanc, Paul Stanhope, and Dave Xowliti as the three tramps, who enter on a course of impersonation and fraud with the object of securing the wealth of a—deud millionaire, is said to be of a very high order, and from start to finish the house is kept in continuous laughter. Their trio "Wouldn't that be a Dream," is one of the musical hits of the piece. Their efforts towards the general amusement are ably seconded by the other members of the company. The music, both orchestral and vocal, is said to bo of a high order, and the ballets and spectacular effects are artistically arranged. The box plan for "The Grafters" will open to-morrow morning at the Dresden.
