GERMANS IN LONDON.
HONEST MEN'S HARDSHIPS
("Time**" and "Sydney Sun" Services.) BERLIN, March 16. A correspondent of a German newspaper warns his countrymen against hasty emigration to England. He states that London offers a splendid scope for criminals and swindlers, but is often unkind to respectable foreigners seeking employment, who become reduced to beggary. Thero is a "Beggars' College" in the East End of London, which sells at threepence or more lists of charitable London Germans to swindlers, who wish'to exploit them by representing themselves as distressed fellow-country-men.
