Lifeboate have boon launched and rockets got ready. Tne obsolete battleship Revenge got adrift at Byde, endangering shipping, but was ultimately secured by tugs ur damaged. The wildest weather is raging in the Channel Tho Newhaven-Dieppo ferry service Ins been suspended. Heavy rain flooded the Thames Valley, and many districts elsewhere aro f.ubmergfjd. Stormy conditions also prevail on tho Continent. The Rtine Valley is flooded. The iSeim> is rising, and Paris is alarmed. Many sea. and Land telegraph services are interrupted. The Swedish barque Trifolim was wrecked jet Land's End this morning. Coastguards, with tho aid of rocket appliances, threw a lino on to tho wreck and saved six of tho crew. The captain and four others were drowned.
