ST. PATRICK'S DAY.
Sti. Psrfcrick's Day was celebrated ijoietly in the city yesterday. Tho ■banks and Government Departments ■were closed, but otherwise there was no noliday. Green ribbons, badges and bows wero to be seen everywhere, and there was no mistaking what particular •»■ day was being celebrated. In tho evening a St. Patrick's Day concert "Was held in the Theatre Royal, and •"""as attended by a large audience. gPKBSa ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND. March 17 "Here were tho usual observances of St. Patrick's Day in and about AuckJMd to-day. The hanks, law, and inBurance office*;, and stock exchange closed. The weather was showery, and so threatening that the big sports ■meeting was postponed until Saturday. _TJiere was a laxgo attendance at the national Concert held to-night.
