AN OPPOSITION CAMPAIGN

GISBORNE, March 17

Mr W. D. S. Mac Donald, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, expects to leave on Wednesday night for Wellington, where he will be joined by Messrs T. E. Y. Seddon, J. C. Thomson, and G. Witty, and tho party will proceed per Main Trunk lino to the North of Auckland on a political campaign. In addition to this tour, the quartet have thirteen other engagements in other parts of the Dominion.

Should the northern tour be got through in time. Mr Mac Donald, who is in charge of the party, will endeavour to bring his colleagues through from Rotorua to Gisborne.

(spectal to "the press.") WELLINGTON, March 17. It is reported that "Professor" W. T. Mills is severing his connexion with tho Federation of Labour and the Social-Democratic Party. Although Mr Paape, Reform Party organiser, states that Mr W. H. Field, ex-M.P., will bo .selected as the candidate of the party to contest Otaki, Mr Field's friends state that he will only stand as an Independent.
