Saturday was a very hot day at Methven, but about 6 p.m. the wind changed round to the sou-west, and, shcrtly after, rain commenced to fall, and continued more or lees up to yesterday morning. It was a welcome change, and wiil do a great deal of good to grass pastures, rape, and turnips. Most or the .cereal crops ar© either threshed or stacked, and in most cases where farmers havo completed threshing the yields are very disappointing. Very little grain has been delivered at the Methven station, for so far farmers aro holding" in tho hope that prices will improve.
