THE FUNERAL.

The funeral of the late Mr E. C. Ashby took place yesterday, the cortege leaving his residence for the Linwood cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. Janiieson, W. H. Cheeseman, \V. Stewart, W. R. Heney. G. Lewis, and A. F. Drayton. Tho burial service was conducted by tho Rev. C. H. Laws, B.A. Tho coffin was covered with wreaths, sent hy the CanterburyBowling Club. Mr R.
