"THE MIRACLE."
To-night's reproduction in motion pictures at His Majesty's Theatre of Professor Max Rheiuhardts great religious, mystery and lyricscopo drama "The Miracle" is to be on an extensive scale quite unusual at a picture theatre The special scenery used m the present production was done by the well-known Australian artist, Mr Harry Whaite, and by its aid the stage of the theatre is transformed into the semblance of a massive cathedral, the windows of which are of stained glass. A choir of trained voices will be heard in the incidental vocal numbers, while Havward's orchestra, which has been strengthened for the occasion, will accompany the screening with Humperdinck's fine music, which having been composed for the play, is said to synchronise with every action of the pictured narrative. A procession of monks and nuns through the cathedral aisles is described as assisting towards realism and a reverential atmosphere. borne novel lighting effects will enhance the ceneral effects. 'The Christchurch exhibitions will bo limited to six nights, and seats for any evening may be reserved at the Dresden.
