LYTTELTON IMPROVEMENTS.
THURSDAY'S POLL
On Thursday nest the ratepayers of Lyttelton will be asked to sanction the * raising of loan proposals amounting to £26,800, to be expended in improving the town generally. The poll will be held at the CalonisU' Hall between 9 a.ro» and 7 p.nvf The proposals will bo submitted as six distinct issues, a separate voting paper being issued for each. The issues are as follow :-*■ £6COO for a workers' dwelling dodging house), to be erected in Oxford street. £3000 for workers' dwellings (separate dwelling-houses), to be erected on property owned by ihe> Council. £7000 for a Town Hall. £1600 for stables. £1200 for a road-roller and a stonecrushing plant. £80W for street improvements. A circular setting forth the proposal* in detail ha* been forwarded to each and every ratepayer, and it is hoped that the loans will be approved, enabling the Council to effect the improvement* mentioned.
