Armed with a blackthorn, a man named White headed n procession of Larkinites, carrying staves, , to demand from the Lord Mayor work for the unemployed. Whit© ordered the police to clear the road. After a serious conflict, the police dispersed the procession. Batons were freely used, and several persons were injured. Three men are in hospital. Whito was injured about the face, and was arrested.
