Thistledown by Clanranald—Elusive has been retired to tiie stud. C. Emerson wiil remain in Sydney until after tho A.J.C. Autumn Meeting, when he will probably return to tho Dominion. The Martian—Starshot colt Martins has been an absentee from tho tracks during the last few days; he is probably doing road work. Ihrax may yot be a starter in th& Waimato Cup. In the event of his going South to compote at Waimato, a fresh rider will have to be found for him, as his usual pilot, F. E. Jonee, has accepted the ride on Taskmaster. Tho Treadmill—Glenowlet colt Nightwatch, has been stopped in his work. Hβ may be given anothor trial next season, but it is. very doubtful if he will ever stand anothor preparation.

Cherubini and Emperador wero associated in a gallop of about seven furlongs on Saturday morning.in tho preeenco of their owner, and, though Emperador got a good deal tho best of tho start, Chorubini had him well beaten when the post was reached. A Press Association message from Auckland says that Rotation has been scratched for the Eastor Handicap and St. George's Handicap, and Reputation for tho Champion Stakes, at tho Auckland Racing Club's Easter Meeting.
