SATURDAY'S POULTRY MARKET.
There was a largo entry of 3150 birds in the poultry market on Saturday. Mr Merrett drew the intention of farmers to tlitt Governor's advice in his speech at Ashburton on the poultry industry. Tho quality of birds is grwitly improved in Canterbury, and high prices were obtained. Table chickens realised 6s to 9s 2d; hens, Ss to os 6d; ducks, 3s Cd to 7s 2d; ge&se, 6s to 7s 3d; turkeys, 28s; pullets, 3s 6d to 9e 9d; all per pair.
