FLOWER GARDEN

It is now getting late to put in outtings of Geraniums from tho open, and if this work is not finished it should Ik' at an early dato, otherwise tht- cuttings will be too soft and will rot when placed in the boxes. A good idea is to strike those in a bed in the open, with a slight shade from the sun. Do not put the cuttings far in the soil, but just far enough in to hold them up straight. If this h done the wound will quickly heal and soon make root. they may be boxed or potted, and taken in to their winter quarters. If cuttings are not pet in, lift the old plants and strip the foliage, then box or pot them for winter: then apply a little water, just enough to keep them alive. Tut in all kinds of cuttings, such as Heliotrope. Salvia, Calciolaria. Cuphea. Alternanthena, Dresini
