OXFORD FARMERS' UNION.

At the first meeting of the Oxford branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union after tho harvest recess, Messrs Weld (chairman). O'Halloran. Cooper. McGrath, Harle, H. Parish. W. Rudd. and Hawke were present. The general manager of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. sent circulars for • distribution to farmers relative to the Bristol and Dominion Produce Co. concerning produce* entrusted to them for salo in Bristol and other West of England ports.' The' Sheepfarmers' Labour Exchange sent scale of fees and asked for a list of members. The secretary was to reply that, a.s there was a labour bureau in connexion with the Farmers-Union, there was no necessity to supply a list of the members of the branch. Tlie provisional executive forwarded subscription lists, with a view to collecting subscriptions for fhe purpose of organisation. The lists were left with the secretary • for the Eurpose of receiving voluntary contriutions. The following remit, proposed by Mr O'Halloran. seconded by Mr Cooper, was unanimously carried and ordered to be forwarded to the Provincial executive: "That it be a recommendation from . the Oxford Branch to the North Canterbury Executive of the Farmers' Union to tako such action as it considers best to have no issue before the electors on Parliamentary election day. but voting for members of Parliament." After speaking on the matter of the Ashley GorgeSnowdale road, Mr O'Halloran moved. "That a respectful request be sent to tho Hon. the Minister of Lands for tho immediate construction of the Ashley Gorge-Snowdale road, for which, in response to a deputation from the Oxford County Council and the Farmers' Union, £1500 passed the Estimates. Tho financial term is passing and labour available." Seconded by Mr Hawke and unanimously carried.
