THE ESCAPED PRISONERS.

WILSON RECAPTURED.

This afternoon Wilson, one of tW young men who escaped from Tinuru" Gaol on Wednesday night, was recaptured on the roadside at Adair, about five miles: south-west of Timaru. At tho three cross roads at Adair; three constables separated, each one taking a different road. Constable Hayward had not gone far when he saw "Wilton sitting on the side of the road. i«*« constable had a small unloaded V ca ~ rifle with him, and lcttir.-g the escaped prisoner see this as a '-bluff," c^" c<l t upon him to surrender. This "Wilson ■>* did quictiy. and he was brought into Timaru and lodged in the lockup. He waa very tired looking, footsore and weary, and refused to talk. No information could bo gained from haa ij as to 'where his mate Matthews, with whom he escaped from gaol, had gone. j Matthews was seen on Thursday evening going .-south. There is a little regiment cf police out looking for hini. including men from Christchurch, Ash burton, Geraidine, Temuka, Waimat* and Timaru.
