I RAILWAY RETURNS.
1 (PBESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON", March 5. During the four weeks ended January 31st. the railway revenue totalled £352,219—N0rth Island £198,947, South Island £153,271. For the corresponding period last year the North Island receipts totalled £180.115 and the South Island £148.255. The expenditure last January was £224.555 (£125.785 North Island and £98.870 south Island) as against £123.968 and £98.551 respectively la t year. The. percentage of expenditure to revenue was 73.27. against 68.44 a year ago.
