LICENSING COMMITTEES.

■ CHRISTCHURCH. The quarterly meeting of the Christi church Licensing Committee was held at noon yesterday. Mr H. TT. Bishop, S.M. presided, and with him were Mr T. J. Mcßride, Mr T. C. Field, and Mr H. G. Ell, M.P. The chairman said that tho police rer ports were aU satisfactory. The license of the United Service Hotel was renewed on the understanding that transfer to a suitable licensee should be completed within three months. Mr S. G. Raymond. K.C., paid that the transfer was now impending, as a suitable tenant licensee had been secured. The transfer of the licence of the Whito Swan Hotel, from D. Snence to James Savage was granted. Mr Cassidy appeared for the transferee. An application for transfer of the iicenso of the Excelsior Hotel from Mrs A. R.,Rowse to l*homas Green was granted. Mr Cassidy appeared in support of the application. " Application for transfer of the license of the Grosvenor Hotel, from P. S. Flower to Thomas Kennedy, was also granted. Mr Weston appeared in support of the application.
