The barque Daniel, which was at Lytte'ton recently with a cargo of hardwood from Australia, ha- been fixed to load at Clarence river for Auckland. From the Northern port the .vessel will roturn to Sydney with timber. It is reported that the new steamer Batsford has been chartered to load generr.l cargo at Montreal for AustraJian and Now Zealand ports.
