A deputation from' the Chamber of Commerce waited on the Minister of Railways to-night and asked that the freight on wool sent back to tho country for scouring should be'reduced. It was pointed out that the Department frequently got three freights on a bale of wool sent back for scouring. Tho shortage of trucks and tho delay and loss caused to business men were also mentioned, and tho Minister was asked to remedy tho elefect. Mr Herries replied that the Radway tariff was being revised, and it was hoped to bring about improvement-. Ho wanted to see his way clear to make up the revenue in some other way before alterations were made. Ho coulel not see his wav clear at present to mako the concession asked for on wool.
