South Canterbury wa.s continued at Temuka today in fine weather. The home team spent thc whole day leather-hunting. On the previous day tho Australians had three wickets down for 117. The not out batsmen. McGregor and Cody, „• took thc score to ISO. Crawford, the next man, and then Ransford and Trumper, piled up runs rapidly, breaking all records. Crawford hit fourteen halls out of the ground. He made 50 in 13 nimutes, 50 in 10 minutes, and so on. Trumper pleased tho onlookers immensely by his crisp, safe batting. Ho made GO in 32 minutes, and 100 in 54 minutes. He hit twenty-one boundaries, and one six. Over 200 runs were scored in the last hour.
