CLASSIFICATION COMMISSION

WELLINGTON, March 2,
A Commission ha« been appointed by the Government to classify the gum lands in tho Auckland province, propara tOry to opening for settlement in small holdings those areas on which no gum remains or on which no gum is likely to be found. Tho members of the Commission are:—
Mr. $t. P. Oreville, Inspecting Surveyor under the Lands Department at Hamilton (Chairman). Mr. Samuel Stafford, of Waipu. Mr. William Stewart, Chairman of the Bay of Islands County Council.
Mr. Robert Hebden, Secretory of the Gum' Diggers , Union at Waihopo. Mr. J. M. McKay, of Waipu.
