MR J. V. WILSON'S RECORD.
Brilliant results have been obtained by a Canterbury College student, J. V. AA'ilson, in the University examinations, the results of which aro to hand. In addition to having passed his B.A. degree', this student has obtained three Senior University Scholarships in Greek, Latin, and History. His success puts him at the head of New Zealand University echolars, the best results previously obtained by anyone being two senior scholarships. .His record to date is most instructive. In IJ'O7 he obtained a Junior Hoard scholarship from thoAVest Christchurch School and two years later a Senior Board scholarship, being then a pupil of the Christchurch Boys' High School. In 1910 a Junior University -scholarship came his way, and next year he signalled his entrance to Canterbury College by obtaining Latin and Greek exhibitions, together with the Ist, section of his B.A. degree. In the College a-nu.il examinations he passed with credit in Latin, Greek, English. Jurisprudence, and Constitutional History. In 1912 Mr Wilson obtained a Greek exhibition, and he passed his College exa/ninations with credit in Latin, Greek, and Economics. Tho next year he *yon three exhibitions —I_atin. Greek, and History—a Senior University scholarship in Latin. Greek, and History, and he passed his College examinai ions with credit in tho same sub.iecrts, in addition to completing his B.A. degree. Among other distinctions he secured_4n 1912 a University Haydon prize for He is only nineteen years of age.
