CESSION TO FRANCE DENIED. ALARMISTS REBUKED. [&r Cablf —- Press Association.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE. February 23. The Federal Premier states that no whisper as to tkc cession of tho New Hebrides to France has reached him, and he thinks % thai there is no justification whatever for the statement of tho Rev. F. Paton to that effect. He considers that it would be well if Mr Paton would either authenticate such statements or cease making them. The Australian Government, Mr Cock says, has received advices from tho most authoritative sources on this subject.
