RABBITS.
TO THE ZDITOK OF "THE PRESS." Sir, —I have noticed in your columns during the last few days, letters from landholders in the Rakaia district, pointing out that rabbits have increased
enormously lately. That may be co, and it is, of course, very much to be regretted, but perhaps thero is an aspect which has not occurred to many of your readers who nre interested in the matter. It is only on the lighter land that rabbits are seen in euch numbers, and as this country is for tho most part in largo holdings, tho cost of exterminating them is too large in proportion to tho receipts from the country. If tho Department docs make a raid on this district, I fancy there aro a number of farmers who will havo their already limited incomes dwindle down to almost vanishing point.— Yours, etc., RAKAIAITE.
