CORRESPONDENCE.
THE CHURCH AND THE WOULD
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PKESS,"
Sir, —In your leading article on this subject, you take a decidedly wrong view , from the remarks of one of the ministers, viz., "They miret learn the language of the ago, if they were to preach a living messago to tho age." \'ou say he advises the Church to learn the language of tho militant Socialists and Syndicalists, tho" , " language of violence and hatred. Nothing of tho sort. It is quite evident you do not know the gentleman personally, and have never heard him preach, or you could not possibly draw such an inference.. Ho will no doubt disabuse your mind on his return to Christchurch. 1 have been a reader of "The Press" for the last twenty-one years, but am afraid that lately you have become so impregnated or saturated, or what you will, with "Red-fed-ism" and "Wardism," that you aro getting away from your broad view of a good many of latter day problems.— Yours, etc., H.
