TROUBLE AT MELBOURNE
MEAT FAMINE THREATENED
(Received February 16th, 11.5 p,m) MELBOURNE, February 16. The slaughtermen nt the city abattoirs ceased work to-day. The men refused to clean the pons after killing, and the employers also refused to do the work. The City Council then intervened and closed the abattoirs. . One thousand men and two hundred employers are idle. The city is faced with a meat famine.
