THE EMPLOYERS' ATTITUDE.
A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION
MELBOURNE, February 16
Recognising the seriousness of the threat of the butchers' employees to cease work to-night, the Council of tho Federated Employers' Union is considering the question of taking charge of the dispute between the masters and the men in both Sydney and Melbourne.
The representatives of the various States were informed of the danger of a strike. The Melbourne representatives suggested applying to the Court for a compulsory conference, but it is reported that the Sydney employers do not favour a conference, preferring to fight the matter out without interference.
