RIGHT HON. THOS. SINCLAIR.

The death is announced of the Right Hon. Thomas Sinclair, an Ulster leador.
The Rt. Hon. Thomas Sinclair, P.C. Ireland, D.L., J.P.. merchant, was born at Belfast on September 23rd, 1838. Ho was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution, privatoly: and Queen's College, Belfast; M.A. and Hon. D. Lit., Queen's University; was Chairman of Convocatioi., Queen's University, Belfast; took an active part in the affairs of the Irish Presbyterian Church; was one of the principal framers of tie Commutation and Sustentation Fundafter the loss of Regium Donum through tho Irish Church Act, 1869; was a leader of the Ulster Liberal party, 1868; became Liberal Unionist, 18S6; and was since a prominent advocate of the Unionist cause; president of tho Ulster Liberal Umonist Association, 188--90; ono of the leading promoters of tho Lister Convention, 1892; chairman of the Watch Commit.-- of Ulster . Convention League, 1893-96; vice-president. Ulster Defence Union, 1893; chairman of its council of members of Recess Committe-, 1895, Privy Councillor, 1896; President Belfast Chamber of Commerce, 1876 and 1902; member of Standing Committee, Lister Unionist Council.
