A NEW ZEALAND TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA.
Since it was known iv British team vrae to visit Australia this year to fire for the Empire Cup, shooting men have been anxiously enquiring whether a New Zealand team waa to be sent over to take part in the competition. Colonel Collins, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dominion Rifle Association, in addition to sending an invitation to • the British team, to visit the Dominion, has been strenuously working in the direction of a New Zealand team being sent over to Melbourne to, fare in the Empire Cap Match. General Godley hae expressed hie sympathy with the object, and the Government is prepared to entertain the and give financial ' assistance. Necessarily, the team will be selected from the competitors at the Championship Meeting, which opene at Trentham on the 26th mat.. and the method of selection, whether the Championship Aggregate or by a special competition, will be made known later. The Empire Match ie «, severe teet, ten shots at 300, 500, 600,' 800, 900, and 1000 yards, and covers two days.
