MR JUSTICE STRINGER.
Tho Canterbury Law Society gave a dinner on Saturday night to Mr Justice Stringer, who has. been appointed to the Supreme Conrt Bench. Mr H. D. Sadreivs, acting-president of the Society, presided over a largo attendance. After the toast of "The King," Mr F. Wilding proposed "His 3Tajesty's Judges," which was responded to by Mr Justice Donniston," who, in his reply, pointed out that Mr Justice biringcr, who was President of the Arbitration Court, was ex officio a Judge of the Supremo Court. Mr Justke Stringer's health was proposed by Mr Henry Slater, and spoken to by Messrs M.
