LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
TWO LABOUR MEMBERS TO BE REAPPOINTED.
(SPECIAI, TO "THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON, December 23. The term of appointment of twelve members of the Legislative Council expires on the 22nd January next. It is understood that the Government does not propose to consider the question of appointments to the Council to fill the places of the members whose term expires until shortly before the next session of Parliament, consequently the membership of the twelve gentlemen referred to will cease on tho date named.
It is understood, however, that exception will be made in favour of the Hon. J. T. Paul and the Hon. J. Barr, and that reappointment will bo offered to them.
