BOROUGH COUNCILS
KAIAPOI.
The fortnightly meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council was held on Tuesday night. It was decided to co-operate with the borough of Thames in efforts to havo the killing of pigs and disposal of products regulated. The Public Works Department referred the Council for Lake Coleridge electrical supply to an agent in Christchurch. The Fire Brigade wa6 granted 22s 6d for Fireman Grimwoeid's long service medal. The Lawn Tennis Club was granted leave to put a second court on Darnley square. The receipts were £346 3s 3d. The overdraft was £847. Mr R. Stark was granted leave to remove a house from Waikuku into the town provided all infected weather boards were replaced by new timber. Half rates were remitted on two unoccupied tenements. It was decided to try a weed-killing composition on somo of the footpaths- The Works Committee was requested to submit conditions for letting the old fire brigade site for building purposes.
