FLOODS IN SOUTHLAND.

GORE, October 29. Heavy rain has fallen without intermission sinco about ten o'clock last night. Advice received by the "Ensign" at 7.30 this evening stated that the Waikaia river was over its banks at Wendon, and was rising rapidly. At Parawa, sixteen miles this side of Garston, tho river was rising rapieily, and residents near the river, were removing their possessions to higher ground. The Waikaia river is over flood level. It is still (8 p.m.) raining, s INVERCARGILL, October 29. Heavy rain has been falling almost continuously during the past twentyfour hours.
Reports from the country districts indicate that there is a danger of a repetition of the floods of March last.
