HARBOUR BOARD CHAIRMAN'S ADVICE.

(sTECIA- TO "THE PRESS.") AUCKLAND, October 29. The chairman of. the Auckland Har'oottr , Board, discussing th© latest

phrase of, the watersiders' strike, said:— "The position to-day has naturally brought about a considerable dislocation of trade, and sooner than this should continue, the employers and others interested should take a stand and close down until some satisfactory arrangement* has been arrived at whereby ail labourers will resume work. My own opinion is that the Employers Association should at once call together not only its own members but all employers of including those in the country, as it is quite time we stood up against tho attitude ot tho section primarily responsible for the position to-day. Upon analysis it will be tound that tho extreme section is but a small handful, and that the great body of workers are sane and therefore reasonable. That being undoubtedly the case, tho samo element must finally assert itself. The sooner that position is reached, and the agitator is a thing of the past tho better it will bo for all concerned."
