(press association telegram.) GREYMOUTH, September 2. The Blackball strike stiil continues, both sides marking time. It is rumoured that the negotiations of the Federation of Labour to mediate will not bo entertained by the Mineowners' Association. (SPECIAL TO "THE rUESS.") GREYMOUTH, September 2. The Federation of Labour and the Mine-owners' Association have arranged to meet to discuss the Blackball trouble. In regard to the rumour that the company intended to force the Union to go under the jurisdiction of the- Arbitration Court, it appears that there is no foundation for such an assertion. The miners can go back to. work under the old conditions at any time. A Blackball resident states that over fifty miners have left the district — some for the Old Country—since the strike commenced.
