Douglns has accepted an invitation to go, and will captain tho team. AUSTRALIANS IN CANADA. (Received September 2nd, 9 p.m.) WINNIPEG, September 2. The Australians defeated a Winnipeg team hy an innings and 58 runs. A stand collapsed during the game ; and several spectators were slightly injured. NORTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the North Canterbury Cricket Association was held yesterday afternoon, Mr W. T. Wilson in the chair. All clubs were represented, with the exception of Cust. Sefton and Ohoka were affiliated to the Association, Amberley withdrawing. The balance-sheet showed receipts £13 6s 3d. expenditure £14 7s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £3 19s 3d. The report stated that the matches had been played in a friendly spirit, and that the Kaiaooi Club had won both the senior and junior competitions. Dr. Crawshaw and Mr F. GuUiverCradwick were appointed as delegates to the Canterbury Cricket Association. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. H. Blackwell ; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Burgin, J. Smith. S. Gibbs, G. Croft, J. *sarclay, G. H. Blackwell. R. M. Wright, W. T. Wilson, R. Blunden, and E. Feary; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. G. Cradwick; auditor. Mr H. C Wilson ; selectors for district matches, Dr. Crawshaw and Mr W. T. Wilson. It was decided to play the east and west end competitions as formerly, and the opening was fixed for the first week in October, tho entries to be in by tho 16th inst.
