It is understood that Mr M. Hannan, who recently resigned the position of Crown Solicitor at Greymouth, in order to contest the Grey oy»-election in tho Opposition interests, has been reappointed. Major William Richards, son of-Com-missioner Richards, of the Salvation Army, has been appointed general secretary for thp Army in the Dutch East Indies. Major- Richards hns been attached to tho Salvation Army for fifteen years, t and ha 3 occupied positions ■of distinction. Other sons of Commissioner Richards, in the Army nro Adjutant S. Richards (Germany), Ensign D. Richards (South Africa), and Captain H. Richards (England).
