I PETITION FOR REMOVAL. A largely-signed petition wae received nt the meeting of the City Council last night from residents in the loenlitv of the Animals' Home, Montreal street, asking for the immediate removal of the home from, its present location. Cγ. Sorensen moved that the letter be cent to the By-laws Committee, with power to act. This was seconded by Cr. Burgoyne and carried. Cr. Millar expressed Hhe hope that the committee would act promptly. The By-laws Committee reported that they had considered the letter from Mr W. H. Zouch applying for tho lease of about two acres of land at Burtrood in connection with the establishment of another home for animals, and recommended the Council not to grant the request, being of opinion that it wns not desirable that a second society should be established. j The report was adopted. j
